Senior Planning Engineer (Contract)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to support a technically challenging and high-profile Overhead Line project in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Based in Fort Augustus, this role offers a rare opportunity to work on a major infrastructure programme while enjoying the stunning Highland surroundings. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and track detailed project schedules for a major OHL cabling programme.
• Deliver progress updates, performance dashboards, KPIs and critical path analysis.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and commercial teams to ensure programme accuracy.
• Support scenario modelling, risk assessment and mitigation planning.
• Ensure all planning deliverables meet project governance and client expectations.
• Provide clear, data-driven insights to support project leadership.

Requirements

• Strong planning experience in major infrastructure or transmission projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working on a remote site at least four days per week.

Planning Manager (Contract)

Overview

A Planning Manager is also required to lead and coordinate all programme management responsibilities for the same complex OHL cabling project. This is a senior-level role that demands leadership, technical oversight, and the ability to bring structure to a multi-disciplinary, high-demand environment. With accommodation provided and highly competitive rates, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planning professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full planning and scheduling function across the OHL project.
• Oversee programme development, critical path management, progress tracking and forecasting.
• Mentor and guide planning team members.
• Provide strategic programme input to senior stakeholders.
• Identify and manage risks, opportunities and mitigation actions.
• Ensure schedules accurately reflect delivery constraints and align with project targets.

Requirements

• Extensive planning leadership experience on major infrastructure or transmission projects.
• Expert Primavera P6 skills and strong programme management capability.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder and leadership skills.
• Ability to work predominantly on site in a remote location.
